All About Howie
December 26, 2008
Will it be Howie? Or will it be Holly? We are being considered to adopt either a 2yo boy or a 4yo girl from Serbia. We are not sure which will be our child. All we know is we would love to have either one of these beautiful children for our own.

Somewhere in the world a little boy waits for a family. Although I have only seen him in dreams I know that he is there and that the family he dreams of is ours. In my dreams he has told me to call him Howie, I know this is not his real name but it will serve as his name until we can be together. I hope that he has seen me in his dreams as well and knows that I will come for him when I can.
Right now he is likely 3 or 4 years old and does not really understand what it means to be an orphan, but he is getting older and time will make him understand. The more time he spends in the orphanage or in foster care, the more he will become developmentally delayed or worse. Time is important. I need to find Howie and bring him home as soon as I can. Unfortunately adoption is a long and expensive process. I first have to raise the money and then complete the mountains of paperwork. By the time Howie and I can be together and become a family he will likely be 5 or 6.
To me Howie is more than a dream, he is my son. And he is waiting for me to come… whether he is half a world away or right down the street
